Heading into winter, the Hudson Valley’s ski scene is heating up—well, cooling down?—as mountains officially open for the season. Here’s where to find fresh slopes, cozy vibes, and complete ticket info!

Hunter Mountain (Catskills)

Description: With 33 trails and five lifts—including expert terrain and beginner zones—Hunter is a favorite for all levels.

Hours: Weekdays 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; weekends & holidays 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.

Ticket Prices: Adult single-day lift tickets are $128 on weekdays and $179 on weekends; children (7–17) $97/$136.

Belleayre Mountain (Highmount)

Description: Offering scenic Catskills views, Belleayre is open with nearly 90% coverage and modern snowmaking.

Hours: Daily 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Ticket Prices: Weekday adult tickets are $119, juniors $94, and children (7–12) $79; peak pricing sees increases.

Catamount Mountain Resort (Hillsdale)

Description: Including nine trails, three lifts, and a learner’s carpet, Catamount is ideal for beginners and families.

Hours: Weekdays 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; weekends & holidays 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
 
Ticket Prices: Adult tickets range from $69–$89, youth $59–$79; kids 6 and under & seniors 80+ ski free.

Holiday Mountain (Monticello)

Description: A southern Catskills favorite with skiing, boarding, and tubing—mid-December opening.
 
Hours: Tue–Thu 3–8 p.m.; Fri 3–9 p.m.; Sat 9 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sun 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
 
Ticket Prices: Adult lift is $60 midweek, $85 weekends; night skiing is $65–$80 depending on time.

Mount Peter (Warwick)

Description: Family- and tubing-friendly, with night skiing soon to start.

 
Hours: Mon closed; Tue–Fri 10 a.m.–8 p.m. (Fridays open till 9 p.m.); Sat 8:30 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sun 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m.
 
Ticket Prices: Midweek adults $60; weekend adults $84; juniors $60 midweek, $80 weekends; seniors free (70+).

Plattekill Mountain (Roxbury)

Description: A smaller mountain with diverse terrain and tubing—Fri to Sun service.

 
Hours: Fri–Sun & holidays 8:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m.
 
Ticket Prices: Weekday adult $80, junior $70; weekend adult $102, junior $78; kids 0–6 free.

Windham Mountain (Greene County)

Description: Early-season opening with 14 trails and three lifts—great for families and advanced skiers.

Hours: Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; Sat–Sun 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

Ticket Prices: Adult lift passes are $225 weekdays and $225 weekends; juniors & seniors $170 midweek; multi-day passes available.
